Winter 2012 Newsletter

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year from all of us and our families at Liberty Lawn & Landscapes to you and yours!

We hope you are enjoying our mild winter. We had another fun and grateful year servicing our customers' needs. We are grateful you have chosen us to service your lawn and landscape needs, so we offer you our sincere THANKS and APPRECIATION!

WINTER THOUGHTS

We have partnered up with Hi Caliber Landscaping, Holmes Mowing, and L&K Construction, all of whom can offer snow removal to our customers. This includes plowing, snow blowing, shoveling, ice melt, sanding, etc. If you would like a free estimate for snow removal, please email or call us or submit the Free Estimate request form.

Most lawns were mowed short this Fall to help reduce the occurrence of snow mold. We will advise you if we notice any mold in your lawn when we are on your property this Spring.

Keep us advised if you see any dead or dying trees on your property over the Winter months. Pines Trees which get Pine Wilt Disease should be removed as soon as the symptoms are spotted, even if this means having it removed in the snow.

As far as trees are concerned, we did a good job with respect to timing of our applications for Saw Flies, Tent caterpillars, Mites, and Bag Worms in 2011. Very few of our customers were affected by these pest in their landscape plants or trees.

All of our customers should have received notice of their lawn and/or landscaping renewal for 2012 and, in most cases, 2013. If you have not received our renewal information please let us know and we will send another copy to you ASAP.

SPRING THOUGHTS

We will begin our lawn and landscape maintenance season in March. Lawn and landscape bed clean ups as well as dormant oil applications will begin as soon as Mother Nature allows. Tree and Landscape bed fertilization begins in late March to coincide with bud development. If you are not currently using our services for your spring clean up, please have your lawn and landscape beds cleaned up before the last week of March.

Your first lawn application (fertilizer with pre-emergent) and landscape bed pre-emergent will be applied on or before April 15th, as recommended by the University of Nebraska Extension Office.

Please contact us if you need assistance starting up your sprinkler system. We can repair any damages done over the winter and program your controller.

FYIs

1. We have secured a very good price for Tall Turf Fescue Seed for the 2012 season. If your lawn is thinning, has shade damage, or would like a grass that is drought, insect, and disease resistant let us give you a free estimate for over seeding.
2. Trees, bushes, and shrubs should be trimmed before bud break this Spring. Especially with regards to ornamental and/or fruit trees. Contact us for a free estimate.
3. If you know you are going to need sodding done this spring please let us know ASAP. We can pre-order sod at a discounted rate which can save you a lot of money.

Thank you all again for your business. We are looking forward to working with and seeing you this spring.
